How GoMediation Works & Legal Information
What is GoMediation?
GoMediation.ai is an AI-assisted communication tool designed to help you and the other person work towards a resolution without the cost, stress or delay of going to court or hiring solicitors. It is not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice.
How the process works
- Create a room — One party starts a mediation room and invites the other party via a neutral link.
- List the issues — Both parties add the issues in dispute. Each issue is tracked with a traffic-light status: red (unresolved), amber (in progress) and green (agreed).
- Communicate through AI — Messages can optionally be rewritten by AI to remove hostility and keep the conversation constructive. You always have the choice to send your original message or use the AI-suggested version.
- Reach agreement — When issues turn green, the platform generates an AI-drafted Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
- E-sign the MOU — Once the MOU is finalised, both parties digitally sign it by typing their full name. When both have signed, the MOU is marked as signed and both parties receive a copy.
What is the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)?
The MOU produced by GoMediation is a non-binding written record of the terms both parties have agreed to. It is not a court order and is not automatically legally enforceable. However, it serves as valuable evidence of what was agreed and can be used as the basis for further steps.
Taking your MOU further
You can take your MOU to:
- A solicitor to formalise it into a legally binding contract.
- A court — for example, to have it turned into a consent order (commonly used in family or civil matters).
- A mediator or arbitrator for further dispute resolution if needed.
