Both parties sign the draft Memorandum of Understanding. It is a written record of what you have proposed together — not a legally binding court order. To make financial arrangements enforceable, you can apply for a Consent Order yourself, or take the MOU to a solicitor for independent advice first.

These are only payable if you formalise the divorce and/or your financial agreement through the courts. Current fees are set by HMCTS and may change.
Applying for a Consent Order yourself
If you want your signed agreement to be legally binding, you can apply for a Consent Order on your own. This is the standard DIY route many people take after reaching agreement.
- Reach a full agreement and sign the MOU.Agree finances, property, pensions and children arrangements in this room, then both parties e-sign the plain-English Memorandum of Understanding.
- Download the signed MOU.You can attach it to your court application to show the judge what you have both agreed.
- Complete the HMCTS forms.You will usually need Form A (financial order application) and Form D81 (statement of information for a consent order). Both are available free from HMCTS / gov.uk.
- Submit to court and pay the fee.The Consent Order fee is currently £60. Submit online or by post. If the judge is satisfied the arrangement is fair, the order is approved and sealed.
A solicitor is optional: you can file this paperwork yourself. If you want help with legal drafting, you can instruct a solicitor later. Forms and fees are set by HMCTS and may change — check the official government website before filing.

Do we need a MIAM before starting?+
No. A MIAM (Mediation Information & Assessment Meeting) is only relevant if you later want to formalise your agreement in court — for example via a Consent Order. You can start using GoMediation.ai today without one.
What do we get at the end?+
You'll co-create a plain-English Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that captures what you've agreed on children, finances, property and pensions. Many couples use their MOU as a clear private record. Where things are more complex, some people like to have the final draft reviewed by a solicitor or qualified mediator before formalising anything in court.
What court fees might apply?+

Is it confidential?+
Yes. Everything is end-to-end encrypted. Your private chats with the AI mediator are never shown to the other party.
What if there has been abuse or coercion?+
This platform is not suitable where there has been domestic abuse or coercion. Please seek specialist support such as Refuge or Women's Aid.
What if we cannot agree on everything?+
That's normal. The traffic-light system shows which points are settled (Green) and which need more work (Amber or Red). Take breaks and come back later — the £299 full-agreement fee is only charged when you're both ready to finalise.
How does Divorce pricing differ from the rest of GoMediation.ai?+
Standard rooms (workplace, neighbour, etc.) are free to use and charged once at final agreement. Divorce is more involved, so it uses its own pricing: £99 upfront to open the room and invite your ex-partner, then £299 only when you reach full agreement.
